Welcome to Indigenous Studies!

I am Metis, Nehiyaw (cree) from my mothers' lineage and a mix of Scottish, Irish, and English on my fathers' side. I am passionate about Traditional Indigenous Knowledge and ways of being. I was not raised with traditional ceremonies and rituals in my household so I pursued a degree in Indigenous studies so that I could learn about my culture. I now walk mother earth as a traditional iskwe (woman). It is my life's purpose to provide that opportunity for others and to help validate and amplify marginalized indigenous voices who know the ancient teachings and are walking that sacred red road. I stray from the path more than I would like to admit but I always manage to find my way back. ;) My responsibility is to ensure that the Indigenous students at each of my schools feel seen, heard and welcome.

kinanaskimotin for this opportunity. It is a great honor. Don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to discuss some ideas.
