Earlier in April, the WFMS hosted African-American storyteller, and Kaslo resident, Shayna Jones. Shayna spent the morning sharing stories from her African heritage including her family’s involvement in the European slave trade that brought her family to the United States over three centuries ago. She also shared her amazing adaptation of an Aesop fable. The students were simply mesmerized by her voice, energy, and joyful approach to storytelling. What fun! Thank you, Shayna!
