Learning About Fish

Jasper (Sarah’s husband) caught some Rainbow Trout today at Cottonwood and brought them in for the kids to investigate. We will be fishing at Cottonwood when we go ice fishing.

Observations:

“No teeth on the tongue!” Different than spawning kokanee.
“its a rainbow fish look at the rainbow scales”
“Look at the white belly”
“Look at it’s lungs (pointing to gills) and it’s guts in there”
“It’s so slimy” – This we learned is the fish’s immune system mechanism…
“It has beautiful eyes”

Here are the Seedlings engaged in more fall activities and learning.
