Congratulations to Suki and Willa who participated in a the ‘Law Foundation Cup’, a Provincial debate tournament held in Burnaby last weekend. As a team, they placed 2nd in the province in the Novice age category. Outstanding!
Two former WFMS students, Riley and Harlan, also participated in the tournament. Way to go, everyone!

Creative Writing Group is this Thursday, October 27th at the Nelson Library! Taught by writer Rayya Liebich. All teens and all levels welcome. Since it is Halloween week, we are going to do Blackout Poetry! It involves taking a page of written word and blacking out most of it except a few select works to create a poem – many turn them into works of art too. We also have a spooky/yummy Halloween snacks!
This week at the Nelson Library we have our first Fibre Arts Club! Thursday, October 13th, 3:30-4:30. This gathering is for knitters or stitch-ers or for those who want to be! If you have a project you are working on, please bring it along! This will be an informal gathering time to work on our own projects. If you have ever wanted to learn how to knit or stitch, we will have supplies and experts on hand to teach you how!
